Yes, the Templars created themselves in a time paradox by travelling back and crucifying a regional holy man, a small time wizard who came to be known to the world as the great pretender, Jesus Christ. Evidence for this time distortion can be seen in the ripple like effects it produces as it renders reality in twain.
